What Does Tanglaw Mean?![]()
Tanglaw means light — and light, in the Filipino home, has always been more than illumination. It marks the table where the family gathers, the window left glowing for someone still on their way home. This collection takes that idea and gives it a body: five lamps, each crowned by a woven salakot and lit by a soft orb beneath the brim, each one wearing a different chapter of Filipino identity. They are the same in silhouette and different in story — a family, standing together.
Who is the Habi?
Long before Filipinos wrote their stories down, they wove them — every community with its own patterns, its own language of thread, passed from hand to hand across generations. The Habi lamp wears that inheritance across its whole body, the woven diamonds standing in for all the hands and histories behind them. It is heritage you don't simply look at, but read.
What is it made of?
